Happy 6th Birthday Carter!
Very shortly, in just a few hours my Carter is turning 6 years old.
The little boy that made me a mommy is not such a little boy now.
This little guy is growing up rather quickly into a pretty awesome person.
A person that loves to play and have fun.
Is more patient with his baby brother and sister than I am.
He thinks up great ideas in his head and just does it.
He is not afraid of trying new things.
He loves to build legos, take things apart and put them together in a whole new way.
He had mad listening to his momma skills.
He has super helper diaper grabber item fetcher abilites.
He can hold Heidi's and Garrett's hand carefully to cross the streeet.
He can READ.
He loves to play basketball, soccer and invents games with this angry birds that are similar to dodge ball.
He is so enthusiatic you can't help but feel great when you are around him.
As a momma to this boy I want to go out of my way and beyond my abilities to make him feel extra special and be able to express what he is worth to me.
How I do that for my kindergartener is by making a really cool star of the week poster.
Making pinterest inspired, auntie encouraged teenage mutant ninja turtle cupcakes for his class.
Decorating the kitchen table with balloons and a crown for him to be a king for a day.
Lining up stuffed animals on the stairs in a procession for him to walk down in the morning.
These things by no means make me an ideal/perfect mother, nor are they to show to others what kind of Mom I am. These times of creative joy, infused with special things are so that my child knows his momma loves him, values him and wants to celebrate the good I see in him.
Because sometimes as a mom the work of it gets in the way of the joy of your children.
So for Today we will celebrate all amazing things that we love about what makes Carter- Carter!
